On 28th August 2006 The Lord Nelson hosted an outdoor music festival, which brought together local artists who gave their services free of charge to raise funds for local good causes. The day was a huge success and proceeds of over £1100 was donated to Croston's uniformed youth organisations and for the purchase and renovation of Croston Community Centre (formerly over 60's).
